Home Remedies For Acne – Alternative Medicines

Adolescents have been suffering with acne for a very long time. You’re not first, and you sure won’t be last. Acne is the bane of teenagers everywhere. And it’s not just teenagers. Some people suffer with acne for many years of their lives.
The first inclination is to rush to see a dermatologist and get some of that magic skin stuff that will make the acne go away, and the sooner the better. And it’s true. There are some very, very good and effective acne medications on the market today, both by prescription and over the counter. But those are not the only choices available.
It doesn’t really matter what your grandma told you – food does NOT cause acne. Chocolate doesn’t cause acne. Fast food doesn’t cause acne. However, the lack of certain nutrients CAN contribute to the problem. It’s not what you DO eat, but it is possible that what you DON’T eat that’s adding to your acne problem.
The average Western diet is appalling. The average American teenager’s diet is far worse than atrocious. Now I’m not saying that you have to give up chocolate, pizza, hamburgers, and French fries, but you really need to include fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, and whole grains to your diet. You’ll be surprised what these foods can do for your skin (and overall health).
Then there are natural treatments for acne that really do work. Tea tree oil is one of them. Tea tree oil is an essential oil that is mixed with carrier oil and applied directly to the lesions. Tea tree oil is an antibiotic provided by nature. It doesn’t burn, and it doesn’t make you itch. It just heals your zits.
Also, zinc has been shown to be somewhat effective in preventing acne. Add a zinc dietary supplement – just don’t use too much as it can upset your stomach.
As most people already know thorough, but gentle, twice-daily facial cleaning is the first line of defence. You really need to practice good hygiene. And try to avoid touching the acne area. This adds more bacteria to an area already trying to heal.
I’ve recently read a very interesting book on healing acne naturally and within a month or two. I know that may sound like forever, but if you don’t start, you won’t ever see great results.

To your health and happiness,

  1. It is not a good idea to purchase a prescription drug online without seeing first your doctor even if you fill out a health-probing questionnaire.

More than 100 different pharmaceuticals have been detected in lakes, rivers, reservoirs and streams throughout the world.

I think pharmaceuticals are strictly a last resort. I believe our bodies are able to heal themselves if just given the opportunity by living simpler lives with less stress, clean water rather than sodas and good, healthy food. It seems simple enough, yet most people live just the opposite way and wonder why they are living with dis ease (disease)!

Just eat good food, exercise every day and you will lose weight slowly and safely.
It is better to rely on supplements that help you to get back in shape over a period of
time without the risk of any side effects.
And once you start to burn more calories than you eat, that is a sure-fire way of guaranteeing that you would lose weight.

thanks Aaliyah for your comments – this post was actually about home remedies for acne, not weight loss and I really don’t agree with supplements unless absolutely necessary. You can’t know what is in a supplement and there are now studies that show that people who take supplements regularly over the long term can shorten their lifespan. Of course it’s up to the individual to decide. :)
